This SPAM repackaging was thought of during May, AANHPI month in the U.S. As a Filipino American, I take pride in my roots and aim to create works that explore my heritage and my experiences as an Asian American in the country. This repackaging is meant to act as a way to embrace and promote Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders and their contribution to the popularization SPAM. This repackaging aims to acknowledge SPAM's role in Pacific countries during World War II and what it meant for people, specifically by allowing them a connection to the states.

The packaging is meant to evoke a sense of pride for AANHPI communities seeing their food on SPAM and to spread awareness on various meals that consist of SPAM, how to make it and the influence of AANHPI communities on SPAM itself. Additionally, the fun and illustrative style is meant to look more fun and appealing for those who may not be visually fond of the curious food item!
